Introduction

The peninsula of Camariñas confronts the Atlantic in a tenacious struggle in order to protect the calmness of its river mouth; where the ocean caresses, already docile, the white sands of the beaches and feeds and shelters many protected bird species and an impressive vegetation.

The visitor will stay stuck by the wild and at the same time enigmatic beauty of the north coast of Camariñas, inside the impressive Costa da Morte. Cliffs sculpted by the wind and the sea that offer mysterious rocky forms like the "Furna dos Infernos" or the "Pedra do Oso" and beaches of special beauty like the Reira, Santa Mariña, Arou, Camelle or Trece.

Between Cabo Vilán and Arou the landscape goes beyond the most passionate look. Declared as a Natural Area of National Interest, it offers an enormous biological richness with protected species of flora and fauna, like the Aros de Cons, the Kittiwake, and the Shag; birds that are in danger of extinction.

To the south, protected from the rough attacks of the Atlantic, is located the Rivermouth of Camariñas. The soft meanders of the Rio Grande open to a landscape of softer and calmer view, with beaches like Lago, Area da Vila o Ariño, and to the border where it is located the small town of Camariñas.

It will not be easy to forget the people of these lands, its popular festivities, its exquisite gastronomy or the delicate beauty of the Lace of Camarinas.
